We need to get NEW LETTERS OF OBJECTION
IN NOW
IMPORTANT INFORMATION - ACT NOW
Although Sefton's draft plan does not include the Peel development proposals, the plans can still be considered by the Government appointed Planning Inspector for independent examination. That inspector has the right to include elements ruled out by the borough's elected representatives. Please read on to find out what to do and how to do it to make sure your voice is heard.
The deadline for your objections is 27 March 2015.
Send objections and comments to:-
Local Plans Team,
Sefton Council,
Magdelen House,
30 Trinity Rd,
Bootle,
Merseyside,L20 3NJ.
or email:- local.plan@sefton.gov.uk
If the landowner or developer submits comments asking for the site to be considered by the Inspector, then he or she will have to consider it. So while we are supportive of the Local Plan as it relates to the exclusion of Peel's plan, we are asking you to object to any amendments Peel suggest in promoting AS17.
We now have to comment AGAIN at this extremely important stage. We are dealing with 'process' - and that means that, even though you may have sent comments in August, you must object again (it would be advisable to keep a copy of your objection because you may be required to submit it yet again at a later stage).
Take care to outline the reasons for your objections. These might include Traffic congestion, Flood risk, semi rural residential area, no industry in this area, pollution from diesel fumes, noise & light pollution. Ecology, water voles, priority bird species Best and most versatile agricultural land much needed for food production look to the future. Amenity value walkers cyclists, canal towpath and Heritage value and an essential gap preventing the blurring of communities. Please ask friends, neighbours, colleagues and family to respond. We already have terrific support, let's nail this!
Recent changes to the protection afforded
Greenbelt land has opened up some areas to development. Our
community is taking the brunt. We're here to stop
it.
Peel Logistics, is already marketing approximately 120 acres of Grade 1 agricultural land in and around Melling Historic Village, grand-scale industrial sheds, with a link road running across from Switch Island, all the way through to Melling, affecting Aintree and Maghull.
We
responded, in our thousands. Now we're taking a look at every
one of Peel's supporting arguments for its plan. We will
respond again. PLAY YOUR PART. Protest ignage will be
going up again, KEEP SIGNING OUR PETITION, and we'll tell you when
the next key date is once we have it. www.sefton.gov.uk/additionalsites
